Hugh Christie Sixth Form offers a high level of support to students who apply to study at University. Advisors and our UCAS                     Co-ordinator work with students to help them to fill in their UCAS application and write their Personal Statement.

We also offer a range of support and enrichment opportunities that provide applicants with experiences that will help to support their applications and prepare them for interviews.

These include:

  • UCAS Induction (to write applications and Personal Statements)

  • Visits to universities (including Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities)

  • PiXL6 Russell Group Conference

  • Higher Education Conference

  • Interview skills and practise

  • Leadership opportunities

  • Work Experience opportunities

  • Support with Student Finance applications

  • Higher Education Parent Briefing


All students who are considering applying to university are encouraged to begin their research at the start of Year 12 and to gain some work experience in their chosen field.  The resources below may help with this process:
