Our aim at Hugh Christie are that every child will be happy, successful and well prepared for adult life. We provide an innovative curriculum, excellent care, good exam results and a successful well established Sixth Form. Places are offered to children in Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Edenbridge, West Malling and other surrounding towns and villages.

Generic Appeals Defense Statement

If your child is due to start secondary school in September 2022, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Tuesday 1 March 2022).


You must submit your appeal before Monday 28 March 2022 for it to be considered by Thursday 16 June 2022. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.


For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

Open Events for 2023 Admissions

  • Thursday 22nd September and Tuesday 11th October – Open Evenings. Tours starting between 6pm and 7pm with a presentation at 7-30pm. You do not need to book.

  • Saturday 1st October – Experience Day. A further opportunity for your child to experience some Hugh Christie lessons and meet some more of the staff and older students. Please enquire through our school website -

  • Thursday 6h October and Wednesday 19th October – Open Mornings. Tours of the school on a normal day, leaving reception between 9am and 9-30am. Tours last around 45 minutes. You do not need to book.

Year 5 and 6 Experience Events 2022

We hope to be able to  invite Year 5  to participate in one of our popular ‘Experience Events’ to find out more about our school by experiencing some real lessons in subjects such as Science, Design Technology, Arts and Physical Education. We also provide the opportunity for a school tour and for parents to meet us and ask any questions.

These will take place  in June and July 2022   Parental tours and discussion with senior staff will take place at 4-00pm.
