IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YEAR 11 STUDENTS AND PARENTS

WHO?
YOU!

WHAT?
Everyone currently in Year 11 is required to stay in full time education or an apprenticeship until their 18th year birthday

WHY?

You are legally required to, but it is your opportunity to now take control of your own learning and education
HOW?

1. You will receive a letter from KCC in November

2. You can then log onto the KCC website - kentchoices4u

3. On this site you can research and apply for courses and apprenticeships, and manage your applications.

4. The deadline for most colleges and courses is in November or December.

5. PLEASE NOTE: Students planning to stay on into Sixth Form also need to complete an application on this website.

www.kentchoices4u.com is a Kent County Council website that:
  • Has information on all the opportunities available to young people aged 16-19 in Kent
  • Allows Year 11 learners to apply online
  • Allows learners to ask providers questions
  • Tracks applications
  • Allows your school to monitor applications to check for learners who need further support
Planning Your Future - Sources of advice and guidance

Some students know exactly what they want to do next, most are unsure. Your first priority is to research your career options, remember you can look for advice from:
  • Friends
  • Parents/Carers
  • Advisor/Teachers
  • The careers section of the school library
  • By searching “National Careers Service” or phoning their hotline 0800 100 900

If you need any further information or help, please don’t hesitate to contact Lisa Homewood, the
