Monday 21st May

We are planning to leave just after 8am. Please arrive in the Main Hall and sign in. Give any medicines to Mrs Nye or Mr Taylor depending on which coach you are traveling on.

Update Monday 5pm We have arrived safely. Two activities complete. Just about to settle into rooms.

Update Monday 9pm.

We have had an excellent first day. The students are currently getting ready for bed.

This afternoon students took part in two activities. They did a tour of Swanage to learn about some of its History and Geography. They also did a fossil investigation to learn about why the area is called the Jurassic Coast.

This evening, despite a shower of rain, we still managed to go to the beach and play some games.

Looking forward to Monkey World, Corfe Castle and the Steam Train tomorrow!

Update Tuesday 5-30pm

Excellent day today. The weather was quite hot this afternoon but we have enjoyed two wonderful trips to Corfe Castle and Monkey World as well as a trip on the Steam Train.

Tonight we are going back to the beach!

Brownsea Island tomorrow.

Update Tuesday 9-30pm

Now back at the Youth Hostel and students in rooms ready to go to sleep. Pictures from tonight's beach and sports activities added.

Update Wednesday 6pm

Another warm day here in Dorset. We travelled to Brownsea Island via two ferries this morning followed by two activities based at the Scout Camp. On the way back, we had a tour of the Poole harbour islands on the boat. Lots of complements from members of the public about the excellent behaviour of the children.

We are visiting the beach tonight (photo update at 11pm). Hoping for a dry morning tomorrow for the Studland Beach visit.

Update Thursday 7pm

This morning we visited Studland Beach. Despite the rain, the students still took part in the nature trail and the sand sculpture competition.

Because of the weather, we moved inland to the Dorset Water Park for the water sports session.

We will pack up later and get ready to leave tomorrow morning.

Expect us to return to Hugh Christie at 7pm unless we post otherwise on the website.

Update Friday 4:50pm

The students are on their way back and are making good progress.

The estimated time of arrival at Hugh Christie is now 6:30pm (they may even be a bit earlier).

Updates will appear here if things change.
