A Level results day at Hugh Christie 2015

Sixth Form students at Hugh Christie School were once again celebrating their A level examination results, with most students attaining or exceeding their target grades. The results, which were in line with last year’s high performance, were just rewards for the dedication and hard work displayed by the students and the high quality of teaching from the staff.

An impressive 98% of the students passed their examinations, with a third of all results being graded A*-B. Value added was once again positive, indicating that in the Hugh Christie Sixth Form students make stronger progress than the average from G.C.S.E. to A Level. Most importantly, all students have secured places at either the universities of their choice or their chosen place of work, including some of the most prestigious in the country.

There were some excellent individual A Level and AS Level performances including:

A Level

Daniel Veness: A*, A*, C

Toby Hind: A*, A, B

Gemma Fisk: A*, A, C

AS Level

Haopeng Li: 5  A grades

Luke Savidge: A, A, B, B

Nicholas Brain: A, A, B

Lauren Henderson: A, B, B

Executive Principal Jon Barker said, ‘As ever, this is a very impressive set of results and I am delighted that so many of our students have done so well. I am particularly pleased that the vast majority have secured places at the universities of their choice and I wish them every success in the future. Students and staff have worked incredibly hard over the past two years and we are really proud of our students' results.

This set of results confirms our place as one of the leading providers of A level education in the area, and cements the views of OfSTED in 2014 as a very good and improving school which provides a high quality education for all Sixth Form students.’
