The Friends of Hugh Christie

4logonew“Together we make a difference"

The Friends of Hugh Christie are a group of parents, teachers and friends of Hugh Christie Technology College who get together to help raise money to give the students extra resources.

We have organised events such as the Christmas Fair, quiz nights, bingo nights, a social evening, a barn dance and provided refreshments for events such as the Autumn Showcase.

The funds we have raised have been used to provide extra resources for the school and include the following: computers for Learning Support; a bench for the Lighthouse Project; 2 sets of goal posts for the PE Department and lunch-time clubs; 2 Boccia sets; grants to the school production Grease, the Photography, Science, Music, REAL and Geography Departments; funds to support the establishment of the Howard Library; and we have contributed towards student reward events such as rollerskating and a Rewards Breakfast.

How can you support the Friends of Hugh Christie?

There are a variety of ways to support the Friends of Hugh Christie from donating prizes for raffles and tombolas, buying raffle tickets to lending a hand at events. For those who are able to commit more time why not join our friendly group, we meet approximately once a term, usually at Poult Wood Golf Centre. Please contact us at for more information.

Please complete our survey (under documents to the left of this page) and return to the school or by email to the address above so we can plan for future events.
