The ICT department is a friendly and experienced department who are able to offer a range of topics from  KS3 to KS5. Working in specialist suites the team is able to teach the practical and theoretical aspect of the courses.

At KS3 some students study ICT as part of the core curriculum and others will have ICT as part of the Technology rotation.  For the majority of students in year 7 the subject is delivered exclusively by the REAL team within their integrated curriculum.

At KS4 students have the option to select ICT for GCSE.  Year 9 will follow the new Cambridge Nationals level 2 course.

Pupils in Years 10 & 11 follow the OCR Level 2 National Award in ICT which is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grades A-C. This is proving to be a very exciting course where students create real-life solutions to real-life problems using industry standard software. This coursework only course allows the department to moderate the students' work throughout the school year and the visiting moderators are able to assess the coursework electronically so that they can see the true quality of the work produced.

Results have been excellent with 100% pass rate in all units.

In KS5 Year 13 students will study the OCR Level 3 Nationals in ICT, a 2 year course leading to 2 A levels. Again this is a coursework based subject with close links to work related ICT issues.   Year 12 will be starting the Cambridge Technicals in ICT leading to 2 A levels.
