Numeracy Across the Curriculum
It is our intention to provide all of our students the opportunity to leave school as numerate individuals. When someone is numerate they are able to think and express oneself effectively in quantative terms. To implement Numeracy across the curriculum it is our aim to provide teachers with the correct information about numeracy demands across the whole school. This will develop all members of staff in recognising individual numeracy demands within their own classroom, relating to their own curriculum areas. All of this will help to support staff to make important judgements about where action toward numeracy should be taken and what needs to be developed. When all of this is considered we will have extended teachers’ knowledge of the strategies required to develop their students numeracy.
