Important notice for parents of students in Year 11

The exam season is now underway.  We appreciate that this is a stressful time for you and your child and would like to reassure you that a variety of support measures and a pre-exam revision timetable is in place to support your child throughout their exams.

On a more serious matter, we are obliged to advise you that, should a student miss their exam without a valid reason, the school are in the position to make a request to the Local Authority to issue a Fixed Penalty Notice.  Penalty Notices can be issued for each exam missed. We will also invoice the parent/ carer for the cost of the exam(s) missed.

Penalty Notices are issued to each parent of each child and the amount of the penalty will be £120 to be paid within 28 days, reduced to £60 if paid within 21 days. Failure to pay the penalty in full at the end of the 28 day period may result in prosecution by the Attendance Service.

Students have been issued with their exam timetable and a copy has also been sent home.  If a further copy is required please contact the exams officer.  If you need any further advise on the exam period or how to help your child cope with this stressful period please do not hesitate to contact us.
