Hugh Christie GCSE results 2014

Congratulations to all students collecting results today.

Headlines from this year’s provisional results:

  • The school improved the proportion achieving five or more GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths by 8% to 54% using a like for like comparison to the performance measures used in 2013. This is the best ever outcome for the school.
  • Expected progress rates improved by an impressive 12% in English with an overall pass rate of 71%; this is 19% improvement on the 2013 A*- C result.
  • The overall A* to C achievement in GCSE examinations was 54%. The A* to C pass rate in other equivalent courses was 99%.

“I am delighted with the improvement in the like for like results compared to 2013. Students and staff have worked really hard to achieve these impressive outcomes with the vast majority achieving what they need to take the next step in their education. I am especially pleased with the very big improvement in English results which has been a major focus for the school over the past three years.”
