A Level Results 2014

The Hugh Christie Sixth Form A Level results were published on Thursday 13th August. An impressive 63% of students in our all ability Sixth Form achieved at least three A levels (or equivalents); an increase of 5% on 2013. The percentage of students achieving two A levels (or equivalents) also improved by 5% compared to 2013.

The pass rate was 97% with a third of grades awarded  at A*, A or B. Two thirds of the grades were awarded at A*, A, B or C. The percentage of grades awarded at  A* doubled in 2014 compared to 2013; this is despite a national fall in the percentage of top grades in recent years.

Students of particular note include:

  • Cory Milligan who achieved five A grades and is taking an internship at an Empire magazine.
  • Bertie Migo who achieved four A grades and has been offered a place at the University of Nottingham to read Computer Science.
  • Lauren Nazer who achieved two A* grades and has been offered a place at Canterbury University to train as a Primary School teacher.
  • Irtiza Nadeem who achieved one A* and two A grades and has been offered a place at Queen Mary University, London, to read Economics.
  • Cameron Hickmott who has achieved one A* and two A grades and has been offered a place at the University of Leicester to read Psychology.

Executive Principal, Jon Barker said

“I am delighted for all those students whose hard work has paid off and have achieved excellent results today. Our all ability Sixth Form attracts a range of students with different interests and I am pleased that the vast majority will have achieved what they need to pursue their dreams.”
