Initial Teacher Training
The College works with a number of training providers including Kent & Medway Training (KMT), University of Brighton, Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) and University of Greenwich. We offer placements for trainees taking both PGCE and School Direct (salaried and non-salaried) routes into training.
Every year we train a number of associate teachers and have a successful record of employing many of these trainees at the end of their training year. We are also committed to offering School Experience to anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in teaching.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES

- To provide all trainee teachers with targeted support in their teaching practice, which will in turn help them to give their best to their pupils and make a real and sustained contribution to school improvement and raising classroom standards.
- To provide a foundation for trainee teachers’ long term continuing professional development.
- To ensure that all staff acting as mentors are aware of and fulfill their roles and responsibilities in the procedure.
