"I wanted to let you know of a boy on his way home from your school earlier today who stopped to ask me if I needed any help with my shopping, although he was going in the opposite direction. (I'd guess he was in year 8 or 9). It is good to observe such thoughtfulness and it is appreciated; I often pass many of your pupils as they are walking home, and they always behave well." - Tonbridge Resident
"Awesome visit to Hugh Christie; great school and brilliant kids."
- Jake Sheaf (British international vollyball player)
"The staff and students were so welcoming and friendly when we came to the school. Having worked with many schools, we were suprised at how well behaved and polite all the pupils were. We can't wait to be involved in another project with the school." - James Ward (Production Trunk Theatre Company)
"Teachers here show you how to think for yourselves and to use the skills you learn to develop as an individual." - Year 12 Student
"We have lots of fun trips like Disney and camping, and the teachers are always getting involved and making sure everyone enjoys themselves." - REAL Student
"My final year at University went very well. I achieved a first class degree as well as graduating top of the year, and hence being awarded the academic achievement prize for my course. I also have some further positive news in that I was able to secure a PhD at Reading, working in the department alongside Met Office staff in Reading and the meteorology department at the University of Munich.
I would also like to add my thanks, once again for the support shown to me whilst at Hugh Christie and whilst I was at university as well, I have greatly appreciated it." - David Flack (Ex-Student)
"It's great to have to opportunity to be involved in big productions, there is a real sense of camaraderie amongst the cast, which I am pleased to be part of."
- Year 10 Student (part of the Bugsy Malone cast)
"My son was very unsure about his University application, but the staff at Hugh Christie guided him through the whole process and were both supportive and encouraging of his ambitions. He eventually accepted a place at Canterbury University and is loving the course." - Parent of former Year 13 student
I have to say that Hugh Christie has been the best thing that has ever happened in our Son's education and we praise you, the school and your staff for the support and recognision that pupils receive. We feel it is so important to be able to reward children even in small ways for their personal achievements be it academic, personal or sport to show its appreciation by the school to the child and giving encouragement for it to continue - Well done Hugh Christie! - Year 10 Parent
"It was so impressive to see how well behaved and supportive to each other the students of Hugh Christie were on each of the nights I was present. I have been backstage at numerous performances over the years at other schools and at my daughters’, (all three of them), stage school when they performed at the Hazlitt in Maidstone and I can confidently say that the students last week were some of the best behaved and the most respectful I have encountered. It was a pleasure to be present on each night! I particularly liked the way the different year groups interacted. Please pass on my congratulations to the staff and students who were involved and be sure to tell them that they were a credit to HCTC." - Parent Helper for Bugsy Malone production.
"I think it's really good - has just the approach I would expect from Hugh Christie - sensible, caring and open-minded. And it seems to cover all the angles to protect children and teachers". - Yr11 Parent (Regarding our Sex Education Policy)
"Both of my girls have thrived at Hugh Christie and although very different kids I know their life is richer having attended and I am immensely proud of them both. I cant thank you all enough for the support along the way.
I will truly miss not having any further involvement with the school. But I will continue to be a great supporter of what I believe to be an absolutely fantastic school made so by the teachers" - Year 13 parent.
