Hugh Christie School is situated on the north side of Tonbridge, Kent. We are located twenty minutes away from the M25/M26 junction 5 and are readily accessible from southeast London. Tonbridge can be approached from Kent and East Sussex via the A21 and A26.

For members of the public, please telephone 01732 353544 and you will be put through to the receptionist who will be able to help you. If you prefer to speak to a named person, please ask to speak to Mrs Nicki Riddle (PA to the Executive Principal).
 
The normal point of contact for parents is your child’s Advisor. Due to work commitments of teachers it is not always possible to respond to parents within a 24 hour period. However, we try and make every effort to do so. Parents are able to leave messages using the voicemail service. We will ensure all communications will be passed to the relevant person for their attention.

Please try and use email whenever possible.
Normal hours for telephoning are from 8-00am to 4-30pm Monday to Thursday and from 8-00am to 4-00pm on Friday. Callers are asked to note that only a limited service operates during the holiday periods.  Please use the voicemail service and the relevant person will contact you.

Parental Consultations and Briefings

Parents are invited, at least once a year, to a consultation with their child’s teachers where progress is discussed and concerns are shared. The school also holds parental briefings every year to provide information for parents to support their child’s learning. The dates of these are published in the school calendar.
 

Visiting

Parents who wish to discuss matters of importance with staff should arrange an appointment.  Please be aware if you arrive without an appointment you may have to wait for a considerable period of time and even then you may not see the preferred member of staff.
All visitors should report to Reception where they will be ‘booked in’ and given a visitor’s badge. This is an important part of our efforts to ensure the security and safety of all students and staff.

Parental Views

We value feedback from parents regarding the standard of education and support provided by the school.
 
Feedback can be given in one of the following ways:
  1. Through a confidential questionnaire available to all parents who attend parental consultations. Each questionnaire is read personally by the Head of School.
  2. Through sending an email to admin@tonbridgefederation.co.uk . Please mark the subject of your email Feedback. These will be forwarded to the Head of School.

How do we keep in contact with you?

Parent Portal

The purpose of the Parent Portal is to provide parents with up to date information about their child or children attending Hugh Christie School.
 
To access the Parent Portal, go to Parent Portal button on the home page of the school website.
 
You will require a username and password to access the site. This will be sent to you by post at the start of the academic year. Please keep this confidential. If you need a password reminder please contact Mark Poddington on mpoddington@tonbridgefederation.co.uk.
 
If you have more than one child at the school, you will be able to access all their details using a single username and password.
 
One you have logged in, you will be able to access the following information: 
  • Notices and important announcements.
  • Your child’s timetable.
  • Your child’s personal details.
  • Your child’s daily attendance.
  • Any rewards (green flags) or sanctions (red flags) your child has received.
  • Information about your child’s examination entries and their examinations timetable.
  • Your child’s school reports.
  • Information about learning support and SEN.
  • Information about the school reward shop.

Newsletters

The monthly school newsletter is available to be downloaded from this website. The newsletter contains important communication regarding key headlines as well as keeping parents informed of school achievements and forthcoming events.

 

Requesting Information from this Website

If you require a paper/hard copy of any information contained in the school's website, please contact the Administration Manager, Mrs Lisa Roberts, who will provide you with the documentation free of charge.

Please note, you will need to collect the documents from school, otherwise a postal charge may be requested.
